Why Do You Love Poker?
July 31st, 2008 | by the MDB |You look at the person across the table, you are trying to read their mind, what do they have, do they want you to call, do they want you to fold? It’s just a pack of cards and poker chips, but poker is so much more. It’s a battle. It’s a war.
The game is so simple, but the permutations are endless. I love nothing more than making the right call, the right fold or seeing a person go all in when I’m holding the nuts. It’s a game that requires cunning and bravery. It’s a game that requires patience and agression. It’s the game I love.
I love it because I am still learning. I love it because I will always still be learning. I love it because it is a good old fashioned battle without guns and knives. Just a group of people pitting their minds and their courage against each other.
For some it is just a game. For some it is a whole lot more.
